Symposium will take place at the Hotel Skalský dvůr near Nové Město na Moravě, in the north-eastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands (the same location as the symposium Tourmaline 1997).
The hotel provides *** single and double rooms, and **** suites, at very reasonable price levels.
By air. We recommend Vienna and Prague airports as ideal destinations for travellers by air; Vienna airport has a direct connection to Brno, Czech Republic, by coach (ca. 16 euro/ticket, platform in front of the airport entrance) or train (ca. 10-40 euro/ticket, depending on discounts available).
Shuttle buses from Prague (airport and city center) and Brno (city center – train/bus connection to the Vienna airport) will be provided on June 22 late afternoon.
By car. The Skalský Dvůr hotel is ca. 2 hrs driving distance from Prague airport (Google maps), or ca. 1.5 hrs from Brno. Recommended access road is from south, from the main road no.19 between Nové Město na Moravě and Bystřice nad Pernštejnem.
Weather in June is typically mild, rather dry and sunny but with potential rain. Highs of 25 °C are common, ~ 30 °C are possible. Night temperatures can be as low as 10 °C. For excursions, light weatherproof clothes are recommended; hard boots are not necessary.
